My-Rutland.com is a labour of love by Jane Williams.

Rutland is my adopted county: I moved here in 2006 and love everything about living in England’s smallest county.

My favourite things to do in Rutland include walking the dog around Rutland Water or along Rutland footpaths; our beautiful stone villages and historic towns; the weekly markets and our independent shops; cultural events in Uppingham, Oakham and Stamford; good food and dog-friendly pubs.

Having spent 20 years working in the travel and tourism industries, I’ve travelled the world, from the glaciers of New Zealand and the Great Shield of Canada to the souks of Dubai. Now, my aim is to discover Rutland; explore its smaller-scale attractions, and the gentle pursuits of walking, antiques-hunting, visiting gardens and checking out local restaurants.

Rutland may not have the highest mountain, the deepest valley or the biggest forest, but there are few better places to live, or visit for a short break. As I explore more of my adopted county, I share my discoveries at My-Rutland.com  and on Twitter where you will find me @My_Rutland

If you own a Rutland restaurant, pub, visitor attraction, hotel, holiday cottage etc and you would like me to visit and review, please contact me on 07989 975 705.
